Hiroshima 2023/11/27

We now call it the Atomic Bomb Dome.

At the time it was built, the Atomic Bomb Dome was a very modern building designed by Czech architect Jan Letzel.

Up until the end of March 1944, this building was used as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion.

Local products were displayed and sold, and cultural events such as art exhibitions were held there.

This area was one of the busiest downtown areas in Hiroshima.

It had many shops and was crowded with people every day.

The Atomic Bomb exploded 600 meters above the Shima Hospital, which is only 160 meters from this dome.

Basically, almost everything within a 2-kilometer radius of the hypocenter was totally destroyed and burned.

Sweet Home, Hiroshima!

You can know a lot about Japanese culture. We want to know about your culture.
